Logan just looked at Scott and sighed, "Listen Cyke, I'd rather go out fighting to prevent this from becoming widespread than to wait until we become targets to every Tom, Dick, and Harry who's carrying mass produced versions of those darts around. Besides, what would prevent them from just shooting me with one o' them darts when I go in 'just to talk.' I'll tell you what. Nothing." He attempted to calm down some. It was hard to think of any possible way that a diplomatic solution could be reached, the government just didn't care enough about mutants for them to have any kind of leverage.
"You wanna have your diplomacy and politics, go ahead. I wish you luck and sincerely hope it works. However, I sincerely doubt anything useful will come from it. I've long since lost my trust of any government."
He knew that eventually, unless the research was stopped, there would be an epidemic in the mutant community. There definitely existed mutants who hated their own mutant-ness. Any argument attempted against the development of this cure would be met with arguments for the 'public good' or 'protection'. Few people in the government ever considered that something that could be used badly, would be used that way. And those that did consider this, were usually the people who were secretly trying to get it to happen to their benefit, at the expense of anyone who got in their way.
"Let me know how that diplomacy works out for you, Scotty. Personally I hope it helps, however much that I doubt it."
