Fury really wasn't surprised at this latest disaster. The cliche was true- when it rains it pours- and the past half a year had provided an endless shit storm for New York City. Sure, a rogue Iron Man suit wasn't quite the on the same danger level as the Hulk, but Mahattan didn't need this. The Avengers didn't need this. It was going to be a PR nightmare and Nick was almost glad they weren't his problem anymore. Well, not S.H.I.E.L.D.'s problem; Nick was already thinking of how he was going to keep Stark out of prison even while convoys of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and army personnel rolled onto the scene. S.H.I.E.L.D. had been attempting to track the suit since Wanda warned Nick about it days before, but of course they hadn't found it- it probably knew they were searching for it- and now here it was blowing up a building and murdering civilians. Fan-fucking-tastic. Still, it probably could have been worse. It could always be worse. He barked orders into his headset and his men began forming a perimeter around the building while others formed up with city personnel, police officers and firemen and medics, to begin rescue efforts. Hopefully, of the thousands of civilians, there were some left alive.
