Later, in a different part of town...
Cat dropped from the large open window into the dark, cavernous expanse of the lab that created her and continued to be the leash that held her. The hand in control of the leash was waiting, calmly smoking one of those fine cigars he preferred and looking through a window into one of the testing chambers. She didn't bother to try sneaking up on him, there was no point. So she sauntered over, seductive sway to her hips and mouth in a playful smile.
He held his hand out without looking at her when she drew up next to him and she gave him the memory card.
"You haven't removed anything?" He asked idly, paying more attention to the man screaming in the room beyond as his body was contorted and mutated horribly by the most recent attempt to alter the formula.
Cat buried her sympathy for the man and shook her head, crossing her arms, "No. That was deal, wasn't it?"
He snorted and nodded, pocketing the stick and going back to sucking on his cigar.
Cat waited all of two minutes while the thing that was no longer a man was killed by security in the room beyond because of his regretible failure before speaking again, "So when can I see him?"
The large man smirked, "You haven't earned that right yet."
"I retrieved the memory card!" Cat hissed, rounding on the man, claws flexing in anger she didn't bother to hide, no longer caring to play the seductive whore. "You said I could see him if I got it!"
"I did," he agreed, obviously amused, "but I've changed my mind. You'll have to do something else. When I decide on it, I'll get back to you." The experiment in the room beyond disposed of and his prize in his pocket, Kingpin turned and walked away. Leaving cat able to do little more than silently curse him. All she wanted to do was see her father again.
