Being away from the X-Men with his own personal business, Kurt wasn't completely up to date with what his teammates had been doing. Case in point - the recent adventure in outer space. Sure, Kurt had heard from the conversation around him as they worked that the X-Men had been in space, but details were sketchy.
Kurt glanced to the sky and grimaced, thinking of Lorna, wondering what had happened and if Lorna was even alive. That was something out of Kurt's control... what mattered at moment was Piotr's emotions.
"I doubt you're jinxing people by your presence," Kurt said, good naturedly. "Being attacked and hurt comes with the territory of being an X-Men. Or haven't you heard? It's part of our job description." He hoped his light hearted joking might ease Piotr's troubled mind. Resting a comforting hand upon the Russian's shoulder and became slightly more serious in tone. "We can't let guilt and regrets shut us down. It's an unfortunate thing about life, that not everything happens according to our plans or ideals. We might not have succeeded now, but that does not erase the good we've done in the past, nor does it mean good won't be done in the future."
