Wanda felt the moment his shield cracked, dammit, that wasn't supposed to happen. That was, well, strange. With no time to spare contemplating it, Wanda barreled in after him with the hope that the bugs were still too distracted to attack. "Sweetie, take my hand," she called out and pushed a shield around him again then shoved her way, disgusted, through the throng of beetles to get to him. When she had a hold of him she tugged and the beetles, though still scrabbling excitedly, did not try to hold him. Instead they all turned, as if they would follow. "Now run," she instructed and pushed him behind her towards the door, backing up herself with fingers outstretched and glowing. She needed something that would take the whole group out at once, but she could hardly think what could do it. An explosion would be effective, but that could knock a hole in the wall if that many of the creatures exploded at once. However, along the same lines, heat might work. It wasn't something she'd ever tried before but she summoned the same hex that caused combustion and rather than concentrating it sent it out as a sort of wave. Much to her surprise, it was a wall of flame that appeared from her fingertips and rolled towards the bugs. Wanda watched the immolation from just outside the doorway with revolted fascination.
