To say Spider-Man was surprised by the behavior of the giant beetles was an understatement. He had no clue what was going on, and if anything was probably weirded out the most. But of course no one could see that. His mask was pretty good at hiding facial expressions, including the fear that developed then.
Spider-Man found himself moving back as he continued to watch the crinkling maws of the insect’s lurch in his direction. He twisted his head to glance at both his companions and quickly replied to both of their questions. “What, I-I don’t know?! I’ve never had anything like this happen before!” He leaped away here and there from their approach as he tried understand their penetrating little show of interest. But everywhere he moved those long gangly antenna seemed to follow. The funny thing was, that his Spider Sense wasn’t going off at all anymore. He didn’t understand. Up until then his Spider Sense only went off when something was attacking him or meaning to harm him. What were these things thinking?
The attention was increasing in multitude. More and more of the bugs seemed to be spreading out towards him and he got a sickening feeling in his gut. He didn’t want no part of what was going on, but he couldn’t just run away. He was a super hero right? And a scentist of sorts, still there were a lot of bugs coming towards him! Spidey was saved from getting swarmed only by the timely intervention of Scarlet Witch, and found himself breathing a sigh of relief when the magical shield appeared around his body. “Thanks.”He whispered as he watched the bugs from some degree of safety.
