The moment Kurt entered the building, he felt the heavy weight of people's stares... non-mutants, gawking at his fuzzy blue body and tail. He held his head up high, but while he generally liked attention, this was not the kind he enjoyed. It reminded him of an older time, when he was pulled from the tightrope and trapeze, and locked in a cage as part of a freak show, to be gawked at in much the same way. Kurt knew Charles wanted to keep the Mansion and its residents safe from Sentinels, but still...
Trying to postpone the inevitable, Kurt slipped into the restroom where he perched himself upon one of the sinks and silently said a prayer. The alarm interrupted him, and he raised his head, hearing the sound of scrambling outside the bathroom door. Leaping from his spot, he flung the door open and looked down the hall just in time to see a familiar explosion.
Why? was the only thing Kurt thought as he teleported himself into the waiting room, landing on the counter of the receptionist's window.
"Stop it!" he demanded of Remy, his patience completely gone.
