Having expected another question and receiving only silence, Sinister turned around in surprise to see if Gambit had actually left the room. Schooling his features within seconds, he was sure any trace of said surprise had gone unnoticed and lifted a hand to wave Remy closer. The screen in front of him changing from a view of Bethany to a listing of experiments
At the top of the list was one that had no string of numbers attached. It was named, simply "Adam". The list scrolled down, making the name disappear and Sinister stopped it a few pages down, touching the screen and bringing up the file and notes on Experiment #A341.1.
The smiling face of a child no older than 10 in a browned and aged photo of a small family in the late Victorian era appeared. A short overview of the experiment scrolled down the screen to the right, "This would technically be your half brother Edward Mallory. You share the same father, me. His mother was that lovely creature standing behind him, Beatrice Mallory. He was created the old fashioned way, as I didn't have all the facilities I do now when I produced him. Yes, his mother quite happily cheated on her husband. She was desperate to have a child and Mr. Mallory was... what is the term? Shooting blanks."
Sinister chuckled,"Of course the majority of the world at the time didn't realize insemination relied most heavily on the male in a coupling and had she continued to not produce an heir, she would have been divorced for failing to do her wifely duties. Mr. Mallory wasn't a hurtful man, but his priorities were for having a son to pass on the family fortune to, not being in love with his wife. She told me her sob story often enough while crying into my arms that it's difficult to forget, much as I'd like to. She was mediocure in bed."
Sinister touched the screen again and another picture of the boy, now older and standing next to a woman in a wedding dress appeared, "I followed his progress mostly from afar, interfering only at certain points. Such as encouraging his marriage to Madam Kline here. Edward was a man of integrity and never had relations with any others. He sired both a son and a daughter. The son's body I claimed as the genetic mix of the Kline and Mallory lines were very desirable for my next incarnation and the girl died of Typhoid before she could become a mother."
