So they went to China and a lot of horrible things happened and whatever the totally weren't doing anything at all of in China was way more important than any of the above. Teddy, he was sure, was in no way ever going to believe this, or even begin to understand the reasoning behind it. There was no real mission to in any way compromise, and whatever compromising they did they did just fine without any other distractions. Hell, they probably would have performed better if they knew they needed to get back ASAP.
Wanda's reaction wasn't exactly how Teddy would have gone about expressing his dissatisfaction with the situation, but he would take it. With ruddy cheeks, keeping his eyes off of both of them, Nick in frustration and Wanda in embarrassment, he darted after Wanda with dedication. He only stuttered once, just before he disappeared through the door, turning like he might look back, not sure where his loyalty was supposed to lay. It certainly wasn't doing him very much good with the General right now.
He went after Wanda. "You shouldn't have said that to him," he pointed out hoarsely, not really thinking about the words as they walked. He didn't know where they were walking to, but it was important that they did. Maybe they did have a direction, something like, "We could get a helicopter. They have a bunch here, I've seen them. We could get one and just go. You could just find him, right? Billy can do stuff like that."
