Cassie leaned into his arms and rested her face against his shoulder, eyes squeezed shut as she attempted to quell her tears. So many questions she couldn't answer and so little she could actually do. She stayed this way, silent and thoughtful in Peter's arms, her sobs stilling, for several long minutes. Finally she moved away abruptly and scrubbed at her eyes. "It's late," she sniffled, "And you've got school tomorrow and I've got stuff and I guess I should go. I'll talk to Fury for you about the police, I promise." She paused and added, her mind now on Peter's other problem, "And I've got your back. For whatever else. You know that, right?"
