This was a good thing right? She wanted to leave the damn terrorist to do whatever, right? Go meet Mystique and teleport off this island as fast as possible, right? So why did it hurt that he wasn't acting like she mattered?
She mattered... to somebody... didn't she?
Didn't she?
She used to think she mattered a little to him. If only for her power. He... saved her from the Hulk and none of the people she thought were her friends had tried to find her before or after. So... did she never actually matter?
Lorna chewed at her lip more and kept her gaze down, "I um... got a notice from campus services that if I want to return next semester, my best chance at doing so is giving testimony at the next hearing about my status and all... they didn't seem all that thrilled to tell me, but someone seems to be fighting for my right to stay... so I... figure I'll be gone for a while."
She had been so sure she wasn't coming back (hello, terrorist!) but now... Lorna couldn't believe she was fishing for validation from the man. She should just leave. Be done with it.
