When the stone gargoyle collided with the Police chopper that had been firing down on him, at once Spider-Man felt a surge of guilt. He hadn’t been paying attention and now those people were in danger inside that thing. He was about to leap off towards the aircraft when he noticed the parachutes. Lucky for him he was safe to save his unhide. God he felt like a chump. He didn’t even have enough to time to find out what the hell had cause the helicopter to crash in the first place.
Spider-Man kept on running. It’s all he could think to do at the moment. As soon as the spot light drifted off him, he came to an abrupt stop. He then looked up at an angle and peered down at the ground. He sent a web line down to the pavement and yanked him himself to the ground near a man hole. With as much stealth as possible he pulled the man hole cover off and slipped down inside to hide.
Once inside the sewers, Pete took a moment to breathe. This place felt dirty and stank, but it was relatively safe. Admittedly, it had been awhile since he’d traveled down here. Probably not since his last battle with the Lizard. Still, Pete was a smart enough kid to know when to use a situation to his advantage. He began crawling around on the ceiling on his way out of there.
