Her response was a self-conscious laugh and a glance towards the floor then back up with him, her smile clear of insecurity now. Wanda was flooded with relief, visible on her features as she tilted her head and her smile became a grin. Still, even with the initial awkward ice broken, there was a frozen lake to contend with. What subject could she move on to now? Small talk would only go so far before they had to broach the unspeakable. There was always work of course, and that thought reminded her of her impending trip and her grin faltered just a little.
He could say no, he would be completely within his rights, and she could disobey him but what would that accomplish. She'd considered going with Nick's suggestion and not telling Tony at all, but Tony was her boss and it would just lead to problems if she kept it from him. Wanda was tired of problems. Worrying about Tony's reaction wouldn't change anything so, opportunity before her, Wanda steeled herself and asked.
"Oh, so I need to know if it's all right if I take a few days for myself. Nick needs a favor for S.H.I.E.L.D. and I agreed," she gave a casual shrug and a long-suffering sigh, "Nick's difficult to say no to."
