Later that day...
A light knock clicked off the door outside Wanda Maximoff’s hospital room. Thomas Shepherd stood outside her door with a large bag and argued with a nurse as he knocked. “I’m telling you- that I am going in there. Do you really want to try and stop me? I vaporized a school lady!” He croaked despite the nurse pointing out that his last name was Shepherd, not Maximoff and that visiting hours for friends were over. Oh that pissed Tommy off. Why couldn’t he have a cool Avenger badge to flash at stupid people like Iron Man did? When would this hag see sense? He’d come to visit his..friend. And he was not leaving until he did so!
After a while the nurse finally relented and let him inside. Mostly because it was very hard to refuse a mutant kid that looked like Magneto. Tommy dipped his head into the room to look around awkwardly before stepping inside fully. Somewhere in this room was his relation and she’d been hurt at the party. Guilt flooded Tommy’s memories as he recalled the sound of her house exploding.
Oh god, there she was on the bed.
How could they let this happen? Thomas had been stricken with fear at the news that his mother had been abducted. He should have kept a better eye on her. Anger and grief washed over his features at the thought.
He approached her at the end of the bed and gave a slight wave. “Hi.” He hefted a bag over his shoulder and sat down.
