Nick closed the door to his study behind her, offered her the seat at his desk, and then his polite smile finally slipped. "S.H.I.E.L.D. not fucking paying you enough?" he asked, his voice hardly louder than a hiss. Taking on outside assassinations was bad enough, but that she'd been caught in the act by a teenage vigilante in spandex was absolutely inexcusable in a S.H.I.E.L.D. assassin. She was supposed to be the best and now Fury was beginning to regret hiring her.
