Susan didn't like parties, especially ones that included dressing up...which would be all of them in this reality. Swallowing nervously, she fought to keep her jacket, struggling with the doorman for a good five minutes before the stares forced her to release her hold and wander into the main room, bare and feeling very exposed. The blonde was comfortable around computers and chemicals, even needles...this punch and dancing was not her thing. There were too many variables and mistakes that could be made. Nothing was for certain and while she didn't mind living in the real world, much different than Reed, she did like the feeling of knowing something about what she was getting into. There was no knowledge in fashion floating around in her head or the latest dating gossip. They were all the whos who of hero business and top in their game, but the similarities ended there between them
Smiling weakly, she wandered amongst the other guests and keeping an eye out for Reed. He had promised he would be here...but he had promised to be at the train station too and look how well that went. Part of her wanted to escape intot he sage haven of her powers, but of course that would be rude and she had a duty to make connections with people who shared their objectives. She had always been rather good at being the representative of the group, keeping peace between their tiny rankings and outside them. Her kind and democratic veiw allowed it.
Thinking a drink would calm her nerves, she lingered near the bar and sipped on a glass of wine, only to find it made her stomach churn instead.
