Lorna frowned and stood back up, going to the sink and opening the door to reveal the trash can. There were two paper wrappers sitting inside. Giving a frustrated grumble, she picked them out and kicked the door shut, placing them on the counter while she started opening the cabnaits. Not finding anything that would properly serve as a recycle bin, she moved out of the kitchen and began searching the rest of the house. It didn't take her long to settle on the trah bin from the bathroom. She didn't need more than one, so she took the plastic bag from it and balled it up to get shoved under the sink with the other bin. Then she picked up the two wrappers and put them in the smaller can and finally set that on the counter.
The first genuine smile she'd had in over a week spread across her face, softening her eyes for a few moments as she finally felt like she had accomplished something important.
