That wasn't the warmest welcome. Teddy's mouth opened to greet her, then snapped quickly shut for an apologetic pout, one hand tucking back into his pocket while the other anxiously scratched the back of his neck. "Sorry, I didn't think it was that late," he tried, sure that he had woken her or at least interrupted her going to bed with her in her pajamas like that. He should have just come earlier or called or something, but then Billy would have been curious and he didn't really want Billy along for this. Not yet, anyway. Teddy needed to talk to her first, and sort this out in his head before he had an argument.
Still, he apologized again, "I can come back, I should have called, I'm sorry," though he didn't move and glanced up at her hopefully. He didn't come all this way just to be pushed out the door.
