Around the seventh time he left the building, he came out coughing and gagging. Was that it? He didn't see anyone else, and the building was about to give way. One of the firefighter was yelling something. Someone was in on the lower floors where the building had given in! He could vaguely hear them screaming- that meant they were still alive. Oh no! It was a kid!? Spider-Man glanced up briefly and thankfully saw the Giant Girl taking care of the roof top rabble. He had to admit she was good. Without thinking rationally or logically about his own preservation, Spider-Man leaped back into the building and into the flames.
Frantically Spidey searched. No, he refused to give up. He'd die first before he left a child behind. Burning pieces of wood and flame fell violently all around. Peter's Spider Sense was going into def con mode, but he didn't care. He concentrated on the sound of that kids voice and dove further into the burning wreckage.
Outside the build shook and started to give way, one thing was for sure- there wasn't much time.
