Lorna was pretty sure her heart stopped when Tony touched her wrist. The rest of her stopped, too, the world becoming nothing more than a blur around the stillness of that moment in her mind. Then her heart returned and pounded in her ears, face red with shame as she heard him tell her to walk. Of course he wasn't offering to call a car for her or anything like that, she wasn-
Her head whipped up so her eyes were on his, blinking a mile a minute as her head wrapped itself around the last thing he said.
"Y-your... c-car? Mr. s-stark?" Lorna couldn't help the waver in her voice, much as she tried to control the nervous stutter. Her fingers were white at the knuckles, wrapped tightly around each other and pressed against her body just below the big black bow on that empire waist.
Unconciously, she took a step forward, toward him. Small, barely noticable as more than a shifting of her weight. Whether for a sense of security or out of excitement at the idea of being in a car -maybe being seen in a car?- with Tony Stark she couldn't say. Heck, it was hard enough to just to think.
She had to say something more. "You brought a car?" It was stupid and she knew it the moment it left her mouth. Of course he brought a car. What else would he come in, a bus? A helicoptor? The Iron Man suit? Well, okay, he could have come in the last one.
