Sinister gave a dissersive snort and took a drink, "Neither of you signed the papers, your step-parents do not acknowledge the marriage, your step-family and her family have condemned you to exile on pain of death should you be found in the borders of the city, and she does not wear the ring in any semblance of sentimentality. You are not yet married."
The last line was said with a finality that indicated he was not in the mood to argue the technicalities further. The ring only served to validate his belief in Remy's extreme sentimentality. Roping him by the heart would seem to be the most effective way of keeping him from becoming a thorn, an X-Man as the child from another world had provided the possibility. That would not happen here.
"You don't like it?" He asked almost innocently. Remy hadn't said anything either way to indicate his appreciation, though Sinister could hear it in his voice. But best to make it appear like the doctor was the one fishing for approval.
