Cassie nodded slowly, thinking of all the times she remembered going to head quarters in her universe. "You know," she began quietly, lost in a reverie, "I had so much fun growing up, hanging around on weekends. You were- well, not you but my universe's version of you... you were sort of my favorite. I remember when I was eight, Christmas fell on a weekend so I got to stay with Dad. He promised me we'd go to that FAQ Schwartz and he'd get me something but for some reason we didn't go. I was so upset and I went to bed and I think I cried about it and then like an hour later you- er, Uncle Tony came and woke me up and was just like 'Come on.' It was almost midnight and I had no idea where we were going but we ended up at the toy store and you, er, he bribed the security guard and we spent the entire night in the toy store just playing with stuff and having fun. We drove around in these little cars and crashed them into a display and y-he just tossed some money on top of the pile of stuff we knocked over and then went to jump around on the giant floor piano. We didn't get home till after sunrise but no one found out and we thought it would be more fun not to tell, like it was an adventure or something. It was pretty much the best Christmas I ever had." She smiled wanly, feeling silly for telling him all this but it was nice to talk about something less depressing than her apparent death.
