Her tone had Teddy sucking in a sharp breath, holding it while he wondered what could have happened to her in the Alternate Universe that had her taking this all in stride, just like they were back at home and they were still heroes. This was what they did, wasn't it? He should have been right there with her, costume on and ready to kick ass, not going into hysterics like some crazy kid. He was way too old for that now.
It had been a heck of a lot to deal with, though, and now Billy had just disappeared. He was allowed to get a little emotional.

And when they left again, it was, like, five minutes--" Teddy held up his hand, fingers splayed, insistent, "before I came out to find out where they had gone and there was just that." He pointed, disgusted, like he could barely cope with the note's existence, let alone what it meant.
