Wanda's stare was uncomprehending. Was he really going to...to piggyback her? She's wasn't four. Furthermore, she was perfectly capable and could walk on her own. As though, to prove her wrong, as she lurched forward her foot slid in a puddle of gore and she ended up having to hold onto Iron Man in order not to fall. Feeling foolish she swung her arms around his neck and let him boost her up. This is so degrading, she thought but she was perhaps smiling just a little as she pressed her forehead against the chilled metallic shoulder for just a moment. It eased a faint pounding that was beginning in her head.
After a few moments of silence she spoke in a low quick voice, business like, reporting, "The two floors below are clear. I checked all exits and windows and reinforced what I couldn't lock. This floor is the first with any sign of, erm, enemy entry."
