The Zed-Word... Characters: Anyone involved in the Zombie Stuff who wants to post before heading to New Orleans. Setting: A warehouse in Baton Rouge Content: Nothing Summary: Zombie Debriefing
In a nondescript warehouse in Baton Rouge an Army General was standing on a platform giving a presentation to a room full of military personnel and "superheroes."
"-Parts of the city still have electricity and there is still running water. Your best bet is to clear a building and set up a base of operations. The airport and a few of the hospitals were cleared weeks ago, but there's no telling if they're still clear since we evacuated military personnel." The General continued to pace, looking tense and trying not to look worried. He gave the floor over to a doctor who began to describe the effects of the virus.
"At first it manifested almost as a common cold, but now the strain acts almost immediately. It eats away vital organs from the inside and in forty-eight hours the transformation is complete. Presumably it affects brain function as the Infected lose any real cognitive skills and only know to attack and consume. In their restive state they seem brain dead and just wander aimlessly." The doctor stepped off the dias and another military type began to speak.
"When they've spotted a target, the peo- Infected have surprising strength and speed given their condition. All it takes is a single bite to spread the virus and they do not stop at a single bite. They are determined and dangerous. And-" he paused and looked genuinely troubled for a moment before continuing, "This information hasn't been released to the media, but mutants who have become Infected have retained their abilities." A heavy silence settled over the room as the man walked away and the first returned to show an in depth map of the city with possible safe houses to set up camp. When the presentations were finished the volunteers were allowed to ask questions and then given packs of food and weapons.
