Even though she knew she had little choice here, Wanda hesitated. The angry blare of a car horn waiting stirred her to action and she climbed in reluctantly. This was what she'd been dreading, but it was worse than she'd imagined. At least at home she'd have found comfort in familiar surroundings or her brother's presence, but now Wanda was on her own with no idea where they were going or what might happen. She should have stayed in the apartment which, from what the Contessa said, was being watched anyway. Wanda guessed it really was just a matter of time before this confrontation happened and she'd been foolish to think otherwise.
Inside the car she closed the door and pressed herself against it they jerked into motion again and slid back into traffic. "What do you want?" she asked warily after a few moments of tense silence, staring sidelong at the Contessa with her hand hovering near the door handle. If she felt threatened enough, Wanda decided she was willing to do something drastic.
