The Superhero Gala was probably the last place Jessica ought to be. She wasn't even dressed for it, had to make due with what she'd traveled with and picked up along the way; the blazer and dark pants weren't too questionable, her hair and the boots really made the outfit. She didn't plan to stay long, anyway, since she hadn't technically been invited, but she was curious, and she'd just needed to get out of the stuffy motel she was staying at. Even the solitary Spider Woman needed to be around people every now and then. That didn't last long; in fact, she almost instantly regretted it--too many bodies, even more gazes--and disappeared into an empty gallery where she could relax and actually enjoy the art she was looking at. The Avengers versus The Arachnid. Jessica curled her lip at the watercolor depiction of the team she'd once been against and herself. They hadn't even got her bloody name right.
