The question surprised her, until it occurred to her that if what she'd seen in his head was true, then maybe he hadn't been in the city for awhile. He clearly didn't know what had happened in his absence. Wanda moved towards the windows, beckoning him to follow, and pushed back a curtain to point out the prismatic sheen of energy on the horizon, visible through the city's skyline. "This barrier of energy just appeared about six months ago over the city. No one knows why. And no one can leave. It only keeps in human beings though, so the city still gets weather, shipments. People have been able to live their lives normally, except for the wormholes."
