"Surely," she said through a wet chuckle. The last of her tears rolled diligently down her face. Her heart ached, and a dull pain began pulsing behind her right eye from the stress of crying, of Wanda crying, of the past terrible weeks burdening her. Jessica had half a mind to ask the nurse to hook her up to an IV of sedatives as well. Instead she wiped her eyes, placed her hand back into Wanda's, and took a breath. It was a while before she could speak without tears drowning her words.
"We could ask the nurses. They've probably got a bottle for every time they've had to deal with a visitor like me." Jessica managed another broken laugh. "Apparently I'm a pain in the ass." Which was true, and when she and Wanda found a place with copious amounts of wine she'd keep those nurses in mind. They'd been more patient with her--and with Hellstrom for that matter--than she probably deserved.
