There wasn't any way for Tony to vocalize what he knew to be true of his own insufferability, so he only grimaced and shrugged skeptically, earning him a slap in the chest from a baby entranced once again by the light there that just moved. This one wasn't going to take anything lying down.
Not that there could have been an uninteresting point in Joe's journey to and through life, but Wicked wasn't exactly making the process sound enticing and Tony had to admit, "Yeah, not an image that works for me, I'm feeling secure in my choices right now." Which made asking for pictures right then seem particularly bad, so maybe he would wait until the not-birthday because there was no way anyone would avoid them then, and Tony could see Wicked in her glowing, pregnant glory. Tony knew it had to have been far more flattering than she was letting on. "Was Nick really there the whole time? Like, eyepatch, twelve weapons, this face," scowling with a hand over his eye, "the whole bit? Nick Fury?" Tony was really having a hard time getting his head around this, and may have instinctively covered Joe's with his free hand like that would protect his sensitive developing brain. Tony's parents were misguided and legally dubious, of course they kept a guy like Nick Fury around their kid, but Wicked seemed to be determined to be a fairly alright mother.
