"No, you can't," she agreed in a murmur. Colleen understood that as well as anyone who'd ever been in love. After all, she did pine for Jasper, and now here she was with feelings for her best friend, and so smitten that she did think for a fleeting moment that she ought to be a little ashamed. Even then, Colleen knew herself, knew how she felt, and came to terms with it. She'd already talked to Misty about all that happened much earlier, so she didn't have any particular qualms about telling her about this now. If she thought being with Danny would be disrespectful to the history all three of them shared, Colleen would never have thought twice about this. Maybe it would be a little awkward, but Colleen had a lot of faith in their friendship.
"We'll go when you're ready." Colleen kissed Danny's cheek, then moved off his lap to sit beside him. "But I'd like to stay here a little while longer." She relished in the peace and quiet, but simply being there with Danny was enough.
