The Sphere was a pretty impressive place, so humanity totally had that going for them. Peter thought so, anyway, whether his companions did or not, and he was fascinated at the mixture alien and familiar architecture with interest as they went through what amounted to a customs process after docking. There was a weird nostalgia in coming here. Peter hadn't returned to Earth since he'd been kidnapped from it. He'd always meant to, but always found excuses not to, and he guessed this was the closest he would ever get (which was sort of bittersweet). He didn't let it spoil his mood though, he was feeling upbeat; after all, he was getting his tape back and he was meeting Kitty in person.
When they were approaching the Sphere he'd called her and been invited to a party she was going to that night, which sounded like it could be fun. Less awkward, maybe, to meet her in a more casual way with a bunch of people around. And also Drax, but Peter figured he and Gamora could handle it should any problems arise on that front. "It'll be fun," he assured his friends as they left their ship and began the trek to find this party. Of course they got lost, had to ask for directions, got a few strange looks, and finally found the right place. "Okay, guys, be cool," he muttered before they went inside, though truthfully it was mostly directed at Drax. This would be great, Peter assured himself, totally awesome and not weird at all.
