That was an absolute truth; a soul was such unfamiliar territory that Tony would steadfastly claim that he didn't have one himself (and he probably wasn't the only one), within a both literal and figurative rational. In fact, he didn't even know where to begin to make sense of what the demon was saying about Wanda's. All he knew was that Wanda was in fact in there, or the demon was a fantastically good actor but only in very short bursts and very specific contexts for no clear tactical advantage. In short, a goddamn liar. This wasn't a surprise.
Iron Man took a half step back at the arc of blood, hands and fingers spread as though he thought he could avoid getting any more gore on him. Off balance, it was easy for the demon to gain on him, knocking the breath out of him and back the way he had come, slipping as he went. Did it just dent him? Trying to gain his footing was hard enough without straining to breath around the new tightness in his chest plate, hands flailing ineffectually to slap away the demon's while Tony came to grips with this situation. He was backed against the wall by the time he'd made sense of the demon's intentions, and it occurred to him to grab it by the head instead of the hands--or, well, they could do both. This suit didn't have seams, per se. It flowed smoothly, like Tony's second skin, and reshaped where it needed to-- like when the demon tried to claw with some focus at his chest, it enveloped the fingers to trap it in place, formed right into the suit up its forearm. It only occurred to Tony after it was done all of the ways that was definitely going to go bad for him, but at least he had Wanda's battered head between his hands to keep it close and limit its leverage, letting his palms glow with warning. She might have been able to take a beating, but the demon probably still needed a head. The Iron Man kept a very good poker face, after all. "Tiny spark's still much stronger than you, asshole," he finally got to retort, feeling the bruise in his ribs with every breath. "She coulda torn me apart twenty minutes ago. You think you're the scary one? I hope for your sake you have an exit strategy here, because you're going to have to answer to her eventually."
