Saying goodbye to the doctor was a relief, if only because it meant no more jokes about Cassie and the stranger's son. Alone with Iron Man, Cassie glanced over to read the sign over the ward doors and figure out where they were and what he was talking about. "Oh, no. I was just walking around. Looking for you. I have been for weeks," she admitted, frowning. In case that sounded totally stalkerish, she quickly explained, "My mom won't let me contact any of the Avengers. She even blocked me from calling you on a comm. That's why you haven't heard from me." Just talking about it made her angry, her posture shifted into a sullen hunch as she crossed her arms and glared at the floor, reliving a few arguments in her head.
"We've been coming here for Blake's dad for weeks, and I heard some nurses mention you. So I just sorta hoped we'd run into each other." Maybe that sounded lame and desperate, but she had a totally good reason and her mom was being completely unfair. She'd always held a grudge against Scott and never liked Cassie being around the Avengers because of all the incidents when she was young. Right, like being kidnapped by bad guys a few times was even that big a deal when her dad was a superhero with a whole team of superhero friends.
