With the moment of not-something passed, Danny let out a long sigh and only then realized he'd been holding his breath. The ache in his stomach wasn't gone, but it had lessened once he he'd dropped her hands and their mutual gaze was broken. Actually, he was doing a very good job of looking anywhere but at her. He stood and restlessly wandered the room until she spoke again. "Yeah," he agreed lamely, "Me too." This would be an opportune time, he thought, to ask what would happen next, if their space adventures would continue, but he didn't bring it up. Instead he made awkward small talk, hoping to get back to somewhere normal and, when that failed, he mumbled and excuse and rose to leave.
