Colleen looked up from the book she was reading on the tablet and smiled, setting it aside as Danny came near. He'd given her the same look that she recognized all the other times, the one that made her heart hurt. She knew what that look meant and Danny was right to think that she hadn't wanted to talk about what happened just yet. Her homesickness was overwhelming enough. "I miss it," she told him, watching the way the lake rippled beneath the rainfall. When she felt the tears coming on again, Colleen forced them back and sighed, pulling the tray back in front of her. "Want some?" Except for the pudding, she hadn't touched the rest of her food. She held up the plate with the sandwich on it and offered it to him. Colleen hoped that along with sleeping, Danny was also feeding himself, but she didn't know for sure.
