It felt to Danny as if he hadn't slept in years. A cat nap here and there while drawing from the energy of his chi were enough to keep him going (and keeping vigil by Colleen's bedside, even after she'd regained consciousness). But once she was awake she insisted he get regular rest, and he did so grudgingly and always returned until she kicked him out again. Now the door to her room opened and Danny stepped in with that look on his face, as if for that moment he had to see her to be sure she wasn't dead, and then it disappeared again with a relieved smile. He'd made a point not to talk much about anything he thought might upset her, ranging from their time on Planet Terror to what her been her actual death on Xandar. He knew they'd have to face it all sometime, but for now he could convince himself that her recovery required that they ignore any difficult conversation. Dropping into his usual chair by her bed, he looked around at the scenery projected on the walls with a faint smile. "It's nice," he mumbled, thinking that they may never see rain- Earth rain- again.
