"She said she was exhausted earlier, but this-" Danny moved out of Misty's way, but climbed onto the bunk near Colleen's feet, his fingertips aglow. His chi was weakened from constant use throughout the day, but he closed his eyes and focused, trying to tap into any reserve of strength he had. He leaned forward and held his hands over her heart as he concentrated on what her life force felt like, flashes of feeling and memory, sights and tastes and smells and sounds. His chi energy searched for the core of her life force and he found it and worked to heal her from the inside out. Danny poured all the energy he could into her and she began to stir, regaining consciousness. But only for a moment. Her life force became distant, he sensed only darkness and the connection was severed. Danny gasped as he drew his hands away suddenly, sweat standing on his forehead at the draining of his already depleted power. "Something's blocking me, I can't heal her."
