"Something nasty," he shrugged. "And I promise, we'll come get you if anything goes wrong, but don't worry-" For what felt like the first time in a long time he grinned. "We've got this."
The ship docks were ranged around the perimeter of the hanger in levels that rose nearly as high as the mountain top, with ladders to each level and mooring area. Every dock port had its own exit and launch mechanism for take off. There had to be a few thousand ships of all shapes and sizes, a grim testament to the sheer volume of prisoners Planet Terror had tortured and murdered for the entertainment of its blood frenzied citizens. Danny wasn't sure what they did with the ships, sold them off or used them for their own devices, but he was glad that there were more than enough to ferry the former captives to freedom.
When they reached the first ladder, Danny offered her his back to piggy-back Colleen upwards for several difficult climbs to the Arfour docks. Siy dutifully followed them and, after Danny deposited Colleen into her own quarters inside, he left them to their goodbyes and promised they'd all be leaving soon.
