Craning her neck to see past all the bodies compacted together, muttered, "I see you," into her earpiece, and raised a cautious hand, an attempt to get her friends' attention before a sharp-eyed guard jabbed her with the prod. The young alien from earlier helped her along the line until every captive was in. Colleen pushed through, to get to her companions, but was shoved back when a wave of prisoners rolled back and gasped, staring in horror at the burnt body twitching lifelessly on the ground before them. The cage they were encased in was barbed with deadly energy. There was no getting out, and anyone who tried to intervene would end up as this alien had.
Howls of laughter echoed in the coliseum. A few prisoner helped carry the injured off to the side, out of the way of getting stomped on. Colleen stood, trapped, watching as a second being came out; the shaken and frail woman from Misty's cell. She threw herself at door she came out of as it closed, scratching and pleading desperately. "They're forcing them to fight," Colleen said into her piece, glancing down at her implanted wrist. She could feel the device under her skin. "And we've been tagged."
