Nick sighed and shook his head, frowning at the picture; more shit, but it wasn't particularly surprising shit. What was left of mutant-kind was afraid, especially since it seemed like the humans in charge had failed, as usual, to protect them or support their interests. Fury could see how they might think Magneto's mutant purity driven ideals might suit them in all the chaos, but he'd been around long enough to see how dangerous that line of thinking was to any group. What they didn't need was any super-powered individuals rebelling or wreaking havoc up here. Peace was already tenuous, at best.
"In the grand scheme of things, they're probably not wrong," he admitted with a frown. "Lots of leaders are on edge. It was hard enough for capes and mutants to earn trust before, but with human populations diminished I've been hearing a lot of grumbling about humanity first. Lots of fuck asses on both sides, I guess. Being up here's got the crazy out in people who oughta be more reasonable." Fury handed the phone back and asked, "What's your take on it? How far do you really think they'll go? Any action I take on this is gonna piss somebody off."
