That barely took Tony by surprise anymore, and he was already dropping the dry edge of his slice before he felt the warmth in his lap to catch it. The next serving he took was more reasonable, and slower to disappear as Tony gave a more thoughtful nibble to the oily cheese, eyes narrowed at Pietro. His dear daddy had just torn up his entire life, literally ripped the ring from his hand and assaulted his wife in their own safe homeland, but Pietro thought it was probably alright to pop out for a bit of a boys' night with a point of contention. Tony really didn't know how he got off thinking he was particularly bright; even Tony could see that was emotionally bankrupt.
"The other Avengers know you're on the team?" he suddenly had to ask, eyebrow raised skeptically. It wasn't a secret that Tony wasn't eager to have Pietro backing him in a desperate fight. A reasonable person would have been more thoughtful of the allies still willing to have him around.
