She never thought Danny's abrupt departure was for nothing, but now that she saw exactly why he had left, what he had gone through, what he fought for, she understood it. Most of the questions Colleen had over the years were now answered, and she smiled as a blend of his and her relief flushed over her, happy that he was home. Colleen could not wait to put her newly learned fighting techniques to use.
Distantly in her mind she heard Misty, at first thought it was another memory coming through, until she realized that it had come from outside the mind-meld. Colleen sucked in a breath as she opened her eyes and broke the bond, her wide-eyed stare on her friend and the gun. Hands up, she stepped in front of Danny in his defensive, "No no, Misty, it's okay!" she explained with a wry smile. "It's okay, look--" and she stepped to the side, gesturing toward him. "It's Danny. Danny's back."
