She laughed at that, continuing down the steps at a slow and careful pace. The girl wasn't entirely comfortable in those shoes. He wanted to spend the night with her. That meant he did like her. The lack of communication since the lunch was just because of his job. No biggie.
Lorna giggled into the flowers, not able to stop the grin that lit up her face like a thousand fireflies dancing in the night. She let Steve lead her down the stairs and out the door. She had left it unlocked for him, but now that he was here and they were on their way out, she locked it behind her.
Tony had arranged for a suite at the SoHo Grand like he said he would. She did not intend to return to her apartment until the next day when her roomates would be able to unlock it and let her in. No need for purses that way. And maybe, if she was lucky, Steve wouldn't be too much of a gentleman for her own good.
