Jasper gave a sharp salute, happy to commit, "Yes, sir!" Not that he needed to be told to get to work, but it was an honour having the Captain ask. "There will be a full report waiting for you the second you walk out of here." Wait a second--there was a slight problem with that assurance that couldn't be overcome by Jasper's eagerness to please. "Only...I'm not part of S.H.I.E.L.D. right now. When I withdrew, I thought it was to keep people safe. I couldn't be trusted. I never really thought I'd be...cured. So..." Logically, he would ask for his position back, and he had little doubt that Director Fury would take him. Losing the caterpillars, Coulson and himself all at once would all leave something of a vaccuum in Fury's careful plan. But the nature of Jasper's recovery hadn't been accounted for yet, and apparently it wasn't meant to be shared. Jasper raised his eyebrows inquisitively and with hope. He wouldn't advise Jasper to leave S.H.I.E.L.D. entirely, would he? There wasn't anywhere else for Jasper to go.
