When his song began in earnest it was easy to forget her stinging eyes while laughing in surprise. Cassie wondered whether he was drunk or just really into Fleetwood Mac and by the time he'd hit the chorus she'd decided that it was probably both, neither of which she would have expected of him. She totally had to pull out her phone and film this moment for posterity (and maybe to show it to Kate later). He actually wasn't half bad. She tried to imagine this display from the Bruce she'd known, and her smile faltered a little.
That creeping feeling of nostalgia that started when he went on stage overtook her again, and she felt compelled to go and talk to him when his set was over to relive old memories and make some new ones. There was an inherent risk, though, anytime she approached someone she remembered from home; either they wouldn't know her at all or might react badly to the whole other universe returned from the dead thing. Lucky as she'd been so far on that front, Cassie didn't think Banner was the kind of guy you wanted to upset. Even when he was(apparently) pleasantly drunk.
Finishing her soda as he finished his song, Cassie took her inner turmoil and her empty glass to the bar near the stage for a refill. This was a lot of anxiety just to say 'hi; to someone, she thought, but there was kind of a lot to lose just to alleviate her sudden homesickness a little bit. She could handle it if he didn't know her, that was fine, but she didn't want to be in any way responsible for Hulk crashing the party. That would suck. Better not to say anything, she decided and turned away with her drink in hand just in time to catch his eye as he left the stage. Now she had no choice. She put on a smile and said, "Hey, great song."
