Years of unwanted leering were easy for Jessica to ignore, like it had become second nature; it was when she'd caught these men staring at Wanda in that way that she'd made looks back at them that had them quickly turning the other way. It was ridiculous, and it didn't help these people looked twelve. It was like walking into a overcrowded kid center with booze, honestly, this was what that driver called a 'hot spot'? Jessica stuck close to Wanda the entire trek through until they found a table, at least now they had a little space to breathe. She took a napkin from one of the empty glasses and wiped the table down before catching Wanda's apology and smiling. Jessica was at just as much fault for blindly taking up that man's suggestions. But at least they were in it together.
"What do you think, is it worth it?" she asked, nodding toward the bar. Just then the DJ's voice echoed from the speaker, and next thing Jessica knew, ladies in tight dresses, tall pumps, and glowing face paint came out, all lined up and sauntering on top of the bar counter with bottles of liquor, pouring it into the mouths of eager men and women in the first couple of rows. One look at Wanda, like hell, and the two women were back outside, back where they started. Jessica linked arms with Wanda as they headed down the street to find something better. Heh. As they walked, she eyed each spot, looking to Wanda if it seemed worth considering, and keeping on when it didn't. Finally they stopped at a corner lounge, and considered a place with an outdoor sign that read Singles Only! with hearts around it. Jessica curled her lip, but the people seemed a bit more within their maturity group, and the music didn't sound obnoxious. "We're single," she pointed out to Wanda warily.
