Back into the comfort of our home almost made it past her lips, instead replaced by a mumbled, "That makes the two of us," as Jessica crossed her arms and stared down their street. Maybe they shouldn't have thrown away that city life booklet their realtor gave them. Just when Jessica was ready to say to hell with it, their cab arrived. Once the girls were in the car, Jessica shot Wanda a mildly wary glance, there really was no turning back now, and when the driver asked the girls where to, she just flat out asked him for suggestions.
"You ladies hermits or somethin'?" he laughed, but quickly shut up when he caught Jessica's death-stare from his rear-view mirror. "Take it easy, gorgeous, there's a lot goin' down in Manhattan, I'll take you to the hot spot." Great, thanks, Jessica sat back with her arms crossed. Hermits, as if he could even tell that by looking at them. Asshole. For the duration of the ride, Jessica was mostly quiet, until they drove into the bright, busy part of town, caught in traffic of cars while people brilliantly dressed weaved through the cracks to get to the restaurants, the bars, and the clubs all lit up along the streets and completely surrounded by others trying to get into them. When it looked like there wouldn't be any place to be properly dropped off, Jessica suggested they get out there, and gave the driver his money.
"Alright." Once they at the sidewalk, Jessica took a quick scan of their options. "Where should we start?" she asked with a soft sigh. "There's that bar the driver mentioned, where the women get free drinks. Oh, and that lounge there with the...music." Honestly, she'd zoned out for most of that man's dialogue. But they were big girls. Now that they were there, all they had to do was pick a place that caught their attention.
