"Happy Valentine's Day!" she called out as soon as the front door opened (they'd managed to miss one another all day, which had actually made it much easier for Wanda to set her plan in motion). When she saw the flowers she grinned; this was more than she would have expected for herself. Apparently they were on the same page. It was cute. All of this effort might have seemed strange to people who didn't know them, but honestly this was the most stable relationship in her life. She rose from the couch to take the bouquet, commenting appreciatively at how beautiful they were, and went to the kitchen in search of a vase.
She rejoined Jess in the living room, gesturing for her to sit down on the couch where her dinner waited on the coffee table. When she took a seat next to her she very carefully slipped an arm around her friend's shoulders for a hug. Wanda knew Jessica wasn't much for hugs, but decided the occasion deserved it. "I thought today was a good excuse for wine and chocolate and cake and Ryan Gosling," she explained, laughing. As if every day of their lives wasn't an excuse for those things.
