"Oh, right, that makes this all okay then." Jessica shook her head at him, how could you, before stepping back with her hand on her hip and her sunglasses touching her mouth as she bowed her head with her face frowned, all done to keep from laughing, but from the twins' standpoint she looked like a brokenhearted fiancee on the verge of a meltdown. Poor Bruce, she wouldn't blame him if he decided to get better friends.
Following a dramatic pause, she pulled herself together by smoothing out her dress and pushing her hair off her shoulders, and sighed. "Excuse us, girls," she said, taking Bruce's hand, "we've got some issues to sort out." Expecting Tony to follow, Jessica pulled her "fiance" away and, once they were out of earshot, added, "Preferably over dinner, I'm starving." She let go of Bruce and grinned like she hadn't just completely sabotaged whatever mission he and Tony had set to accomplish.
Tony. Right. It wasn't that she'd forgotten he was there - she was looking straight at him now with that stupid grin on her face, which dropped into a softer smile once she caught herself, almost as if she were a little uncertain. If her memory was to be trusted anymore, they hadn't talked much since he'd been released, maybe even before that. Not that they were really ever good at talking to each other. Someone had to try. "Good to see you, tiger."
